Team MILRAM youngsters with strong performance at the World’s View Challenge in South Africa

Dortmund, 03. February 2008. Team MILRAM’s young riders continued to prove their good early season form in the second race of the „Intaka Tech World’s View Challenge“ (02.-07. February / UCI 1.1). Led by the Ukrainian Andrey Grivko, the German ProTour team put its mark on the 127,4 km around Peitermaritzburg. The 24 year-old couldn’t follow the final attack by Italian Leonardo Betagnolli (Team Liquigas), only a few km before the finish line, and finished in second place as he did the day before. PETALING JAYA: Anuar Manan is Malaysia’s best bet to spring surprises for the “green jersey” (sprint category) in the 13th edition of the Tour of Langkawi (LTdL) cycling championships from Feb 9-17.

The LTdL chief operating officer, Datuk Naim Mohamed, said that Anuar, who rides for Le Tua, was on form and he had the ability to win a stage as well.

“There is a possibility that local riders could steal the show this time … or win at least the Asian category,” said Naim after receiving the Milo-sponsored “green jersey” for the sprint champion of the LTdL from Nestle Products sports marketing manager Ng Ping Loong at a press conference yesterday. THE colours of Milo will be featured on the sprinters’ jersey for the first time in Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) on Feb 9-17, and the battle of the fast men will be a heated one.

Critics have it that the stage is set for bunch sprints and points classification battles for the Milo green jersey between the biggest sprinters Danilo Hondo and Alberto Loddo.
